PokerTime Review:

Pros

  • Automatic $25 bonus
  • You get the chance to play against noted poker pros
  • Open to players from the US

Cons

  • Graphics could be improved
  • Not much player stats provided
  • Some complaints about accounts being closed for no apparent reason

Games and software

PokerTime offers a pretty respectable range of familiar poker variations including Texas Holdem, Omaha, 7 Stud, and 5 Stud. The gaming software is pretty straightforward and remarkably easy to use, but underneath the simplicity lies a host of features that wouldn’t be out of place in the finest online poker rooms on the scene. The graphics may be a bit sparse for players accustomed to more visually impressive poker rooms, although the benefit is that there is nothing to distract you from getting on with your game.

One thing we appreciated with PokerTime is how the cards are dealt. Most sites aim to provide a visual representation of the actual act of dealing the cards, which we feel is quite unnecessary and only serves to slow down the game. Thankfully PokerTime has chosen not to follow suit, and the game play goes by a lot faster as a result.

Bonuses

Aside from the welcome bonus of $25 that is given immediately upon signing up, PokerTime also offers a bonus that could be worth up to $1000 to players that make a deposit. In addition, you will also be given the chance to rack up more bonus points for up to 90 days after making your first deposit.

Free Rolls and Tournaments

PokerTime runs several promotions on a regular basis of which the freerolls are particularly appealing. For starters, there is a $15,000 new depositors' freeroll and there are also several Rounders tournaments, which are reminiscent of the tournaments held at larger poker sites.

VIP - Loyalty Clubs

Regular players at PokerTime can take advantage of the site’s Players Club, which is a 5-level loyalty program that offers increasingly larger benefits the higher up the scale you go. Among the perks offered to members of the Players Club are personalized support, reload bonuses, free tournament entry, holidays gift packages, and even access to a host of Guaranteed Tournaments and Satellites.

Customer Support and safety

While customer support at PokerTime is generally satisfactory, there have been a few complaints about their parent network Prima, many of which have to do with accounts being closed for no apparent reason. While we did not encounter any such problems with the site, the number of complaints floating around certainly leaves a less than favorable impression.

Conclusion

With great games, fast and stable performance and easy to use software, we would like to give PokerTime top marks across the board. Unfortunately the numerous complaints we have received about Prima prevent us from giving it a top score. We do hope that PokerTime resolves these issues, as it would be a shame to give this one a miss.

The games are fairly easy and the software is fairly good, but they no longer payout US users and don't always pay out on their promotions either.  After a very bad experience with them not paying me after cashing in one of their promotions, now they informed me they are no longer able to send checks.  They then asked for all sorts of banking information via e-mail claiming that they would send me an ACH transfer.
What is even more disturbing is that the Web site of PokerTime's parent company (Carmen Media) has dissappeared from the Internet.  I want to get my cash out of this company, does anybody have any ideas or any experience with PokerTime?
